There has been a dramatic increase in private vehicle trips between Amman and Salt as the existing public transport provides unorganized and   infrequency of service to users and is unable to compete with private mobility modes. MoT has set a goal of reversing this scenario by introducing sustainable public transit service to satisfy the increased mobility demand between the cities of Amman and Salt. This includes evaluating different mobility modes and technology options for the proposed system; where the choice of which will be a result of optimized service and financial performance. ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP; supporting the MoT; is seeking to hire a consulting firm to assess the different possible alternatives for a mass transit solution connecting Amman and Salt.  The main objectives of the Study are:-          Establish the baseline conditions for the public transit system operating along and connecting to the Amman-Salt corridor by performing the needed reviews; data collection and analysis-          Performing an alternative analysis for the sustainable mass transit system alternatives at the Amman-Salt corridor and recommending an alternative and technology to be used.-          Performing a feeder system analysis for the Amman ¨C Salt corridor; recommending the preferred alternative.-          Performing a high-level comparative financial analysis The findings and conclusions of this assignment are expected to provide clarity to the Government of Jordan on the options for mass transit solution for the Amman Salt corridor and their advantages and disadvantages; for their decision making; in advance of a full technical and financial analysis.
