Issa Diaw is the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group's Country Manager for Guinea since July 1st, 2024. He previously was the ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP¡¯s Country Manager for Guinea. Before that he had served as Deputy Director of Operations for the Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, Burundi, and Sao Tom¨¦. A Senegalese national, he joined the ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP in 2008 as a senior electrical engineer after a 23-year career in the energy sector. He has held several positions as a senior energy specialist in the South Asia and Africa regions, then as manager of World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group infrastructure programs covering Angola, Cameroon, Gabon and Sao Tome and Principe.
An electromechanical engineer, he is a graduate of the ?cole Sup¨¦rieure Interafricaine d¡¯Electricit¨¦. He holds a master's degree in energy systems with a concentration in economics and management from the ?cole Polytechnique F¨¦d¨¦rale de Lausanne, Switzerland, and a specialized master's degree in power system design and operation from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France.
The Guinea office is one of 21 World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group offices transitioning to a single World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group Country Manager or Resident Representative for the International ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), International Development Association (IDA), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).
