July 27-31, 2015Kigali, Rwanda

The Strategic Impact Evaluation Fund (SIEF) and the United Nations Children¡¯s Fund (UNICEF) organized complementary workshops on impact evaluation and how to incorporate research and findings to improve early childhood development. Funding for the workshops was provided by the H&M Conscious Foundation, UNICEF, and SIEF.

The SIEF workshop, delivered largely by former fellows from the East Africa Social Science Translation Fellowship program at the University of California-Berkeley, focused on how to evaluate early childhood development programs using rigorous methodologies and measurement tools. Approximately 60 participants from 12 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America attended the workshop, among them government officials, evaluation practitioners, local researchers, and World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP and UNICEF staff.
