In 2023, Russia¡¯s Gross National Income per capita reached 14250 USD, and, consequently, Russia was classified as a high-income country for the first time since 2015. 

From April 15 to 19, 2024, the office of the Executive Director for the Russian Federation and the Syrian Arab Republic participated in the Spring Session of the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group, held in Washington, DC.

The Russian Federal Tax Service together with the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Russian office organized a seminar, called "Revenue Collection and the Role of Digital Technologies," on October 12, 2023. This seminar highlighted the vital role of digital technologies in domestic revenue collection and administration and was the first seminar ever organized by Russia during offsite WBG Annual Meetings.

The Russian and Syrian delegations participated in the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which concluded in Marrakech, Morocco, from October 9 to October 15, 2023.

The 2023 Spring Meetings marked a significant milestone as they were the first to be held entirely in-person since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. This format provided an excellent opportunity for the Russian delegation to engage in several productive bilateral meetings with delegations from other countries.

The Russian Federation was recognized by the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP as one of top-ten countries in the world with the highest maturity in digital government.

The assessment is the result of GTMI ¨C the GovTech Maturity Index 2022, which considers the current state of the digital transformation of the public service in 198 global economies.

In October 2022, for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Annual Meetings of the WBG/IMF were held in person with the possibility of remote connection.

On October 10, 2021, a meeting was held between Mr. Roman Marshavin, the Executive Director for Russia and Syria, and the delegation representing Mali during the Annual Meeting, led by the Minister of Economy and Finance of Mali, Alouss¨¦ni Sanou. 

30 years ago, on June 16th, 1992 Russia officially joined the Articles of Agreement of the International ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP of Reconstruction and Development and International Development Association, thus officially becoming a World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Member-country and an active participant of the global economic agenda.

Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation and Deputy Governor for Russia at the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group institutions, Mr. Timur Maksimov, led the delegation that took part in the 105^th Meeting of the Development Committee on April 22, 2022.

Central ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP of the Russian Federation announced call for working papers that could be included in the programme of its annual International Research Conference that will take in Saint Petersburg on 5-6 July 2022. The topic of the conference is ¡°Financial Sector Response to Climate Change: Implications for Central ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPPs¡±.

The Russian delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and IBRD/IDA/MIGA/IFC Governor Alexey Overchuk visited Washington DC and took part in the events within the framework of the 2021 WBG/IMF Annual meetings.

In July 29, 2021, the Russian ED¡¯s office hosted a webinar on different aspects of national experiences with the development of e-government systems between the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Russian Ministry of Digital Development and Mass Communications, the Argentinian Secretariat of Public Innovation and the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group staff members.

On June 2-3, 2021, the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group President David Malpass took his first trip to Moscow since assuming leadership of the organization. During his visit, David Malpass had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also had a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. 

On May 26, 2021, the Russian ED¡¯s office hosted a BBL on recent insights of the role of natural gas and hydrogen in meeting the targets of the Paris Agreement. The event was moderated by Prof. Jonathan Stern, distinguished fellow Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES), and features the recent insights shared by Ralf Dickel, Senior Advisor at Zukunft Gas, and Dr. Peter Zeniewski, Lead Gas Analyst at IEA. 

On April 19, 2020 the Russian Deputy Minister of Finance Timur Maksimov met with the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Anna Bjerde via videoconference.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister and IBRD/IDA/MIGA/IFC Governor Alexey Overchuk took part in the Development Committee meeting held virtually on April 9, 2021 during WBG/IMF Spring Meetings. 

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister and IBRD/IDA/MIGA/IFC Governor Alexey Overchuk held a videoconference meeting with the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Managing Director Axel van Trotsenburg. The event took place ahead of the Joint Ministerial Committee meeting of the WBG Boards of Governors and the Development Committee. They discussed topical issues of the Russian Federation and the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group cooperation, as well as the progress made in implementing the agreements reached during the meeting with World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP President David Malpass in October, 2020.

Russian representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development took part in the first-ever virtual meeting of the Development Committee held on April 17, 2020 during WBG/IMF Spring Meetings.
