Matteo Bugamelli, an Italian national, is the Executive Director at the Board of the Executive Directors of the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Group representing Albania, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, San Marino, and Timor-Leste since 2020. He currently serves as chair of the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Audit Committee.
Immediately before joining the WBG Board, Mr. Bugamelli was Director in the Research Department and Coordinator of the Regional Research Branches in the ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP of Italy. Coming with over 20 years of experience working with the ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP of Italy.
Mr. Bugamelli has participated in working groups at the European Central ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the European Commission, and Eurostat. He has also authored and co-authored several articles on International Trade, International Migration and Remittances, and Firm Behavior.
Mr. Bugamelli holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Bologna (Italy) and a PhD in Economics from Columbia University, New York. He was a visiting scholar in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley.
