Organizers: World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Disaster Risk Management Hub, Tokyo, and Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC) / In cooperation with Japan's Ministry of Finance (MOF), Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), and World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Urban Flood Community of Practice (UFCOP)

On April 18-21, 2016, the World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP Disaster Risk Management Hub, Tokyo and the  co-organized the first Technical Deep Dive (TDD) on Integrated Urban Flood Risk Management, in partnership with Japan¡¯s Ministry of Finance (MOF), Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), and the .

Technical Deep Dives bring together experts and practitioners through workshops, site visits, peer-peer knowledge sharing and action planning. The objective is to provide specific support to World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP clients and their projects, by addressing thematic topics of high client demand and on which Japan offers relevant experience and solutions.

The Technical Deep Dive on the Integrated Urban Flood Risk Management offered first-hand knowledge exchange opportunities for clients and World ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵAPP staff from Argentina, Ghana, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Madagascar, Nigeria, Solomon Islands, and Vietnam. The TDD highlighted expert presentations from MOF, MLIT, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), International Center for Water Hazard and Risk Management (ICHARM), as well as from Singapore¡¯s Public Utility Board (PUB).

Following the event, the DRM Hub organized a public seminar to feature the key challenges of implementing Integrated Urban Flood Risk Management in the East Asia and Pacific region.
